Diggiloo connects youth across boarders

by: Susanna Pitkänen, Diggiloo project manager

This is the start. This is a possibility. If we know each , we listen, we talk and we can start to understand. We want to co-operate and build a safe and good future for all. We want peace – we want you to step forward and join us to create a better world. With songs, art, culture, poems and mutual understanding – opening eyes, learning from one another.

Diggiloo project has had a rough start with covid delaying the kick-off, responsible people staying at home on sick leave, ban on f2f meetings and now we are in the middle of a war in Europe. But this is precisely why we see there is a need for young people to meet and understand eachother. Communicate in the words of art, express feelings, point to things in common and understand cultural diversity and differences. Be creative, be tolerant and solve problems.

Three countries and a network of partners aim at bringing youth and youth groups together to be creative, co-operate and share their productions and artwork. You may express your tough’s and we will offer a place to capture an audience- to be heard.

What do you see? What do you want to see? A nice bluetit and an excellent naturephoto? Or a symbolic picture about Ukraine wanting freedom and democracy – to fly again? This is art – it has a meaning and can be interpreted in many ways. Slava Ukraine! Photo: Serkan Mutan
